Elections July 2023 – A Path to New Uzbekistan
Today’s Presidential election is an important political step in Uzbekistan to ensure continuity for the path of New Uzbekistan.
The year 2023 will go down in Uzbekistan as a year of democratic renewal and change. The Constitution adopted for at the referendum held on April 30 laid the political and legal foundations for implementing the new Development Strategy of Uzbekistan, defining the priorities for further strengthening of the state and society at a historically important stage in developing national statehood.
Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan has become an important partner for international institutions and foreign countries looking to make inroads in the region.
Thus “openness”, “modernization”, “inclusiveness”, “qualitative industrialization” and “environment friendly policies” would further consolidate Uzbekistan’s important position in the region and beyond after the election.
Uzbekistan’s election is taking place at a time when geopolitical differences are growing and affecting the world economies but Uzbekistan is gaining the trust for foreign investors as a reliable and stable partner.
So the elections in Uzbekistan are taking place against a backdrop of radical change and democratic reform, a new political environment is emerging, and the international community is paying increasing attention to these changes.
The constitutional reform in Uzbekistan was an important step in the development of the country and the strengthening of democracy, human rights and the rule of law. The thesis on a peaceful foreign policy enshrined in the new Constitution of Uzbekistan should be regarded as a fundamental change that demonstrates not only greater responsibility and maturity of the state, but also an understanding of the prospects for cooperation with its neighbors in the region, with whom the country is united by common history, common values, culture and religion.
By developing its electoral system, Uzbekistan ensures and protects the constitutional electoral rights and freedoms of its citizens and voters while being open to international observation, not only in national elections but also in referendums.
In this way, Uzbekistan implements the universally recognized principles and norms of international law in the field of democratic elections and ensures and protects the electoral rights and freedoms of participants in the electoral process.
Properly formulated goals and no less consistent implementation will be an important factor in the sustainable development of the entire region. Deeper interconnectedness with neighbors will make Uzbekistan stronger and the Central Asian region more stable and sustainable.
So the elections of Uzbekistan promotes “healthy”, “constructive”, “positive”, “productive” and “participatory” competition among the various political parties and actors in the country and takes Uzbekistan on the path of success.
