Turkmenistan Delegates Engage in UN ECOSOC Youth Forum to Advance Global Goals
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Delegates from Turkmenistan recently took part in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum, held in a hybrid format from April 16 to 18 at the UN headquarters in New York.
The Turkmen delegation was represented by Begench Khalnepesov, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Central Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, and Maral Allaberdyeva, a third-year student at the International University of Humanities and Development.
The forum centered on the theme “Improving the recovery from COVID-19 while consistently moving towards full implementation of the 2030 Agenda.” Its objective was to mobilize youth efforts towards a fairer and more sustainable future, addressing the impacts of the pandemic, accelerating progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and fostering youth involvement in decision-making processes.
Turkmen delegates actively engaged in discussions during the forum, contributing to global dialogues on youth-related issues and sustainable development.
