Prime Minister Chính Meets Vietnamese Community in UAE

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính met with officials, embassy staff, and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the UAE on Sunday as part of his official visit to the Middle Eastern nation. Extending warm regards to the Vietnamese diaspora, Chính praised their dedication, unity, and contributions, noting that they embody intelligence, enthusiasm, and strong connections to their homeland.

Reflecting on the Vietnam-UAE relationship, PM Chính highlighted that the two nations have built a positive partnership over the past three decades, spanning politics, trade, investment, labor, and tourism. He announced that this visit will see the signing of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), set to boost bilateral relations and support the Vietnamese community’s growth.

Prime Minister Chính reaffirmed the Vietnamese government’s commitment to supporting overseas Vietnamese, viewing them as an integral part of the nation. He addressed the community’s proposals, pledging to improve their well-being and promote their status in the UAE. Chính further stated his intent to establish a Vietnamese association and cultural center in the UAE, fostering language preservation and cultural ties.

During his remarks, PM Chính briefed the expatriates on Vietnam’s resilience and growing international stature, emphasizing the nation’s achievements despite past hardships. He encouraged the Vietnamese community to integrate well, respect local laws, and serve as a cultural bridge between Vietnam and the UAE.

Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyễn Thanh Diệp reported that over 5,000 Vietnamese currently reside in the UAE, with community leaders expressing optimism about expanding cooperation and enhancing support for visa, procedural, and documentation needs.
