Abdulmunem Al Hashemi Reappointed as Senior Vice President of Jiu-Jitsu International Federation
Heraklion, The Gulf Observer: Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohamed Al Hashemi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and President of the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Union, has been reappointed as Senior Vice President of the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF) for a new four-year term. The announcement was made during the JJIF Annual Congress held in Heraklion, Greece, alongside the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
The Congress brought together key figures, including JJIF President Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, who was re-elected by acclamation, and continental federation representatives, as well as Joachim Thumfart, JJIF Executive Director, and Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Union.
During the Congress, members approved updated regulations for the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Union, reviewed the accomplishments of the past year, and finalized the competition calendar for the upcoming season, confirming Thailand as the next host of the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
Representing Al Hashemi, Fahad Al Shamsi conveyed his gratitude to the Congress for their continued support and congratulated President Theodoropoulos on his re-election. Al Hashemi expressed his commitment to advancing jiu-jitsu globally, emphasizing the importance of expanding the sport’s reach and creating opportunities for athletes of all ages.
