China: Typhoon Saola makes landfall in Guangdong
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Typhoon Saola made landfall in southern China on Saturday, according to the local meteorological observatory, according to media reports.
It hit the city of Zhuhai in the Guangdong Province, with winds reaching a maximum speed of 42 to 46 m/s.
The typhoon is expected to decrease in intensity as it moves through the province at a forecast speed of 15 to 20 km/h. Over 780,000 people have been evacuated from the at-risk areas of the Guangdong Province, state media agency Xinhua reported.
