Kuwait’s Crown Prince affirms private sector’s key role
Kuwait, The Gulf Observer: Kuwait’s Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Wednesday Chairman of Kuwait Chamber of Industry and Commerce and heads of the Arab and Gulf chambers of commerce.
The hosted representatives of these chambers are participating in the 59th session of the Federation of the GCC Chambers of Commerce and the 133rd session of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries.His Highness the Crown Prince addressed the guests, relaying greetings from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
His Highness the Crown Prince noted that leaders of the Arab states are doing their best to serve interests of their countries and people. “And they have been quite aware that cooperation and integration are the basis for growth and progress and that consultation is the key to reach solutions we all aspire to,” he said.“We are also aware of the vital and significant role played by the chambers of commerce and industry in our Arab countries,” His Highness the Crown Prince said, noting that these chambers have been seeking to revitalize the private sector amid hard circumstances and grave challenges, also facing all states of the world.Countries worldwide have been suffering from repercussions of these challenges and are seeking to tackle them, most notably the coronavirus crisis and the economic situation from which many countries have been suffering from recently.
His Highness the Crown Prince affirmed the private sector key role in the Arab states’ economic development. “We count on you through your relentless efforts to recover the Arab economies .. while we advise you to conduct positive contacts and exchange information and economic indexes with the relevant government departments.”
While emphasizing role of these chambers to attain economic recovery, His Highness the Crown Prince also underlined role of the “private information” sector to disseminate facts about the states and communities rather than “spreading rumors for narrow and personal gains.”
The head of the Kuwaiti chamber also addressed the audience, expressing gratitude to His Highness the Crown Prince, noting that Kuwait has always been proud of its Arab affiliations and has been hosting a number of Arab agencies.He also extended thanks and expressed good wishes to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, the Amiri Diwan Undersecretary and the Director of the Amir Office, Ahmad Fahad Al-Fahad, and the Director of the Crown Prince Office, Jamal Al-Dhiab.
