Unlocking MENA’s Business Potential
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Sciences Po Executive Education, a renowned international research university in France, has collaborated with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA), the leading diplomatic training center in the UAE, to introduce the Geopolitics and Business Environment in the MENA Region Executive Education Certificate program. This initiative aims to provide participants with essential skills and knowledge to navigate the dynamic landscape of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, fostering the development of professional networks and facilitating strategic decision-making.
The MENA region has witnessed significant political and economic transformations since 2010, leading to the evolution of new development models. The Executive Education Certificate program will empower participants to understand and actively engage in shaping the intricate business and geopolitical landscape of the MENA region. The curriculum will focus on key aspects, including geopolitical and security considerations, adapting to the new economic order, emerging growth sectors, and insights into the socio-cultural and legal context of the region.
Nickolay Mladenov, Director-General of AGDA, expressed the importance of the collaboration, stating, “This initiative exemplifies our commitment to fostering diplomatic and business expertise, facilitating collaboration, and contributing to the region’s growth. Sciences Po’s traditions, knowledge, and expertise are a perfect match for the Academy, and together, we will be able to develop and deliver tailor-made capacity-building programs in both the UAE and France.”
Benoit Banchereau, Director of Sciences Po Executive Education, highlighted the unique perspective the program offers, stating, “Deciphering the MENA zone through the human and social sciences: this is the angle that AGDA and Sciences Po wanted to give to this training course to enable participants to better determine the strategic commercial stakes of this region.”
The accredited certificate program, spanning a minimum of 10 days, is designed for diplomats, public sector executives, and directors of companies and institutions operating or planning to work in the MENA region. It comprises four modules and covers topics such as economic challenges and opportunities, commercial and financial negotiations, project management, financing and investing, and geopolitical shifts.
Professionals who complete the program will gain in-depth knowledge of the MENA region’s economic and political landscape, formulate strategies for operations and investments, adapt to social and cultural environments, and build a robust professional network. The program reflects the commitment of both institutions to advancing diplomatic capabilities and knowledge in the public and private sectors.
