11th Azerbaijani Youth Forum Kicks Off in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The 11th Forum of Azerbaijani Youth, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, commenced in Baku today, bringing together young leaders and participants from across the country.
Prior to the forum, attendees paid tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev by visiting his grave in the Alley of Honors.
Farid Gayibov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, read out President Ilham Aliyev’s address to the nation’s youth on the occasion of Youth Day. The event featured the screening of a video showcasing the country’s youth policies, followed by the presentation of Presidential Prizes to distinguished young individuals. Awards were presented by Yusuf Mammadaliyev, Head of the Department of Youth Policy and Sports Issues of the Presidential Administration; Anar Aliyev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population; Farid Gayibov; Firudin Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Science and Education; and Murad Huseynov, Deputy Minister of Culture.
Speaking at the forum, Minister Anar Aliyev highlighted the notable progress in youth employment and vocational training. He emphasized that programs implemented by his ministry enhance young people’s readiness for the workforce, foster innovative thinking and practical skills, and contribute to the development of a qualified personnel pool across various sectors of the economy.
Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov underlined that the foundation of Azerbaijan’s youth policy is closely linked to the vision of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, whose guidance established a strong legal framework and key decrees in this field. He noted that President Ilham Aliyev has successfully continued and expanded this policy, providing young people with a clear roadmap for personal and professional growth.
Deputy Minister of Culture Murad Huseynov highlighted the role of cultural engagement in shaping youth perspectives and its influence on the core values underpinning Azerbaijan’s youth policy.
The forum continued with interactive discussions and deliberations. It was announced that a session dedicated to the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” and a workshop titled “Youth Potential – for the Sake of National Development” will be held at the Khankendi Congress Center on February 3.
