11th Forum of Azerbaijani Youth Held in Liberated City of Khankendi

Khankendi, The Gulf Observer: The 11th Forum of Azerbaijani Youth was held in the city of Khankendi, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, bringing together young leaders, officials and international representatives to discuss youth participation in national development and urban transformation.
On the second day of the forum, opening remarks were delivered by Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports; Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the President in the city of Khankendi and the Agdara and Khojaly districts; Ilgar Isbatov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture; Gulshan Rzayeva, Deputy National Coordinator of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13); and Anna Soave, Head of Country Programme at UN-Habitat Azerbaijan.
In his address, Sabuhi Gahramanov stressed the importance of active youth involvement in the restoration and reconstruction efforts currently underway in the liberated territories, noting that young people play a key role in shaping the future of these regions.
Marking the 30th anniversary of the Forum, Minister Farid Gayibov highlighted the special significance of hosting the event in the liberated city of Khankendi, describing it as a symbol of renewal, opportunity and youth engagement in the country’s development agenda.
The forum featured two panel sessions titled “Building Cities of the Future: Youth Responsibility in National Development” and “Cities as a System of Opportunities: Education, Skills and Employment for Youth,” focusing on sustainable urban development and expanding opportunities for young people.
It was also noted that Baku will host the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) from May 17 to 22, further underscoring Azerbaijan’s growing role in global discussions on urban development and youth participation.
