4th Bahrain International Quran Recitation Competition Concludes with Grand Ceremony
Manama, The Gulf Observer: Under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), hosted the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the web-based Bahrain International Quran Recitation Competition (Global Reciter) at the Cultural Hall.
Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, conveyed sincere gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his steadfast support of the global competition. This competition stands as a testament to Bahrain’s unwavering dedication to serving the Islamic religion and the holy Quran, aligned with His Majesty’s enduring commitment to promoting the values and principles of the kingdom’s Islamic identity.
Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed extended congratulations to the winners of this edition, along with their families, institutions, and nations, for their distinguished achievements in memorizing and reciting the holy Quran. He also commended the members of the jury for their tireless efforts throughout the competition.
Moreover, Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments for its exceptional organization of the event, while commending the vital strategic partnership with the Ministry of Information and the e-Government Authority (iGA).
Acknowledgment was also extended to the sponsors of the global competition, including stc Bahrain, Kuwait Finance House, Al-Salam Bank, Ithmaar Bank, Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas), Diyar Al-Muharraq Company, Gulf Plus, Al-Watan newspaper, and Al-Ayam newspaper.
The ceremony featured recitations of holy Quran verses by Bahraini contestant Mohammed Sameer Mujahid and Yemeni contestant Ahmed Mohammed Saleh.
During the event, Shaikh Abdulla Abdulaziz Qahtan Al Omri, Director of Holy Quran Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, delivered a statement on behalf of the organizing committee. Mohamed AW, Managing Director of Hayel Saeed Anam Charity Foundation, also delivered a statement on behalf of the participants.
In recognition of their contributions, the SCIA President honored the competition’s partners, sponsors, jurors, and winners. Bahrain’s contestant, Mohammed Sameer Mohammed Mujahid, was awarded the Global Reciter Award for Tajweed Recitation (Al-Qari Al-Mojawed).
Additionally, awards were bestowed upon Hamza Haysam from Algeria for the “Al Qari Al Muratel” (reciting the Quran in the proper order), Ahmed Mohammed Saleh Ahmed from Yemen for the “Al-Qari Al-Sagheer” (young reader), and El Yes Hajri from Morocco for the “Al-Qari Al-Hafiz” (reader who memorizes the Quran).
Fadya Abdulmalik from Yemen received the Qari Al-Jumhoor (reciter of the public) award, and the Hayel Saeed Anam Charity Foundation was honored with the “Manjam Al Quraa” Award.
Distinguished attendees at the ceremony included Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice-President of the Supreme Judicial Council and Court of Cassation President; Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments; Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, CEO of iGA, members of the SCIA, members of the Shura and Representatives councils, judges, ambassadors, members of the Sunni and Jaffari endowment councils, and officials and members of Quranic centers.
