5th World Nomad Games Conclude with Celebratory Ceremony in Astana

Astana, The Gulf Observer: The 5th World Nomad Games concluded with a grand closing ceremony in Kazakhstan’s capital, featuring a musical performance and speeches by World Ethnosport Confederation President Bilal Erdoğan and Kazakh Sport and Tourism Minister Yerbol Myrzabossynov, NHC reports.

President Bilal Erdoğan expressed his admiration for the event, highlighting the participation of around 2,500 athletes from 89 countries. He praised the Games for showcasing the rich history and worldview of nomadic cultures, blending thrilling sporting competitions with captivating entertainment.

“The World Nomad Games stand as a testament to Kazakhstan’s ambition to institutionalize traditional sports globally. This historic organization has drawn attention on multiple levels, demonstrating our cultural heritage through the detailed presentation of the opening ceremony, venues, sports facilities, and cultural events,” Erdoğan stated.

The Games, held under FIPS rules, emphasized that traditional sports are more than just competitions, but are platforms for fostering friendship, solidarity, and brotherhood. “Athletes brought together by the Games remind us of the importance of collaboration and sharing a common culture,” Erdoğan added.

He also thanked Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, whose support played a vital role in the success of the Games. “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the President and the entire team, who devoted themselves to this monumental event. Each of them contributed to making this sports festival a part of our shared history,” Erdoğan said.

Minister Yerbol Myrzabossynov echoed these sentiments, praising the Games as a remarkable achievement for Kazakhstan and an opportunity to further strengthen the global community’s connection to traditional nomadic culture.
