Khorfakkan

Khorfakkan, The Gulf Observer: Khorfakkan Municipality has officially concluded its summer programme, Ajyal Al Mustaqbal (Generations of the Future), which ran from June 30 to July 17 and targeted school students with a series of engaging, career-focused initiatives. The initiative featured three innovative components—Engineer of the Future, Inspector of the Future, and The Little Farmer—aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of municipal professions while instilling values of community service and environmental responsibility.

Supervised by the Technical Affairs Department, the programme commenced with Engineer of the Future, offering students interactive engineering workshops designed to demystify engineering concepts and provide an enriching hands-on learning experience. These sessions encouraged critical thinking and introduced participants to practical aspects of the engineering field in a simplified and engaging format.

The second phase, Inspector of the Future, was led by the Public Health Department and took students on field awareness tours alongside municipal inspection teams. Visits to local barber shops, the fish market, and various commercial outlets allowed students to witness the role of municipal inspectors and highlighted the vital importance of maintaining public health and hygiene through effective field oversight.

Concluding the programme, the Little Farmer initiative—managed by the Agriculture and Parks Department—took students to the scenic Nahwa area. Here, participants learned about traditional and modern agricultural practices, gained knowledge of palm tree care and harvesting techniques, and participated in environmental awareness tours focused on sustainable farming and natural resource preservation.

Khorfakkan Municipality praised the success of the Ajyal Al Mustaqbal programme, stating that it achieved its educational and developmental objectives. Through interactive, real-world exposure, the initiative significantly contributed to raising professional awareness among youth, inspiring them to consider meaningful future careers in service of their communities.

The Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals by continuing to implement programmes that bridge educational learning with practical, socially responsible applications.
