Vice President Gibran Advocates Inclusive Robotics and AI Education Across Indonesia

Indonesia

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesia’s Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka received a delegation from the Indonesian Smart Technology Society (Masyarakat Teknologi Cerdas Indonesia/MTCI) at the Vice Presidential Palace on Wednesday, emphasizing the government’s commitment to advancing technology education nationwide.

According to an official statement, Vice President Gibran highlighted that the development of robotics education should extend beyond mainstream schools to include Islamic boarding schools and special needs institutions.

“The vice president is paying particular attention to ensuring that special needs schools in Indonesia also have the capacity to teach robotics and coding, so that technology education is inclusive,” said MTCI Chairman Jully Tjindrawan.

During the meeting, the delegation presented recommendations, including the establishment of a standardized robotics and coding curriculum to be implemented across the country. “The vice president received and discussed our input on teaching robotics and coding to children, from kindergarten through senior high school,” Jully added.

MTCI also outlined various training and development programs in robotics and coding already implemented in several regions, forming the basis for discussions on building a structured, sustainable, and globally adaptive digital education ecosystem.

Vice President Gibran also deliberated on the establishment of integrated technology development centres. “The vice president encouraged broader dissemination of a standardized curriculum and opened space for discussions on the establishment of an AI Hub to strengthen the robotics, coding, and artificial intelligence ecosystem,” Jully noted.

The meeting served as a forum for dialogue and exchange of views on strengthening the national technology ecosystem, particularly in robotics, coding, and AI education. Discussions aligned with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to accelerate digital transformation in the education sector and reflected the government’s commitment to engaging stakeholders in formulating strategic steps for national technology education.

MTCI is a collaborative organisation that promotes innovation and smart technology governance, focusing on enhancing digital literacy, fostering innovation and startup ecosystems, and advocating ethical and inclusive technology policies. Through such collaboration, Indonesia aims to equip its human resources to compete effectively on a global scale.
