Uzbekistan-EU Diplomatic Talks Convene in Brussels

Brussels, The Gulf Observer: In Brussels, Abdulaziz Kamilov, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy, engaged in a consequential meeting with Jivka Petkova, the Director of Coordination and Administration at the Executive Office of the President of the European Commission. This diplomatic encounter underscores the commitment of both Uzbekistan and the European Union to foster dialogue and collaboration, emphasizing the importance of international relations and cooperation between the two entities.

The parties exchanged views on further promoting Uzbekistan – European relations and developing practical interaction in a regional format.

The parties expressed interest in the early signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the EU, which was initialed on July 6, 2022.

Jivka Petkova highly appreciated the efforts of the Uzbek side in combating climate change and mitigating its negative consequences. Support was expressed for Uzbekistan’s initiative to hold the International Climate Forum this year in Samarkand.

The parties discussed the schedule of the upcoming joint events of a bilateral and interregional nature.
