Chinese Premier Li Qiang Advocates for High-Quality Housing and Urban Renewal

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for the development of safe, comfortable, green, and smart homes to address the growing demand for high-quality housing. Speaking on Monday during a visit to a construction technology exhibition in Beijing, Premier Li emphasized the need to cater to diverse living requirements and adapt to emerging societal needs.

Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the importance of accommodating various groups, including the elderly and children, by integrating aging-friendly and child-friendly features into both new housing projects and renovations of existing homes.

He underscored the role of scientific and technological innovation in driving improvements in design, construction, and maintenance, aiming to promote the high-quality development of China’s real estate and construction industries.

Urban renewal was identified as a critical component of ongoing urban development. Premier Li stressed the dual objectives of enhancing people’s livelihoods and boosting domestic demand. Key priorities include the renovation of old residential compounds, urban villages, and dilapidated houses.

Additionally, Li called for the preservation and promotion of historical and cultural heritage during urban renewal efforts, ensuring harmonious and culturally rich cities where residents can enjoy a high quality of life.

The remarks reflect China’s broader commitment to sustainable urban development and improving living standards for its population.
