Abbas Araghchi Arrives in Doha for Doha Forum 2024 and Talks on Syria
Doha, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in the Qatari capital early Saturday to participate in the Doha Forum 2024 and engage in high-level discussions on Syria.
The Doha Forum, taking place from December 7-8, serves as a premier global platform for dialogue, bringing together policymakers, leaders, and experts to address critical challenges facing the world. Minister Araghchi will join other dignitaries in discussions aimed at fostering solutions to pressing international issues.
On the sidelines of the forum, Minister Araghchi is scheduled to meet with his counterparts from Russia and Türkiye. These meetings will be conducted within the framework of the Astana process, a diplomatic initiative launched in 2017 to pursue a political resolution to the Syrian crisis. The upcoming talks are particularly crucial in light of the resurgence of terrorist activities in Syria, which pose a renewed threat to regional stability.
The Iranian foreign minister’s participation in the Doha Forum follows a series of diplomatic visits to Damascus, Ankara, and Baghdad, where he engaged in discussions centered on Syria’s evolving situation. His meetings with Russian and Turkish officials in Doha are expected to advance efforts to address the ongoing conflict and reinforce the principles of the Astana process.
The Doha Forum 2024 offers a critical opportunity for dialogue and cooperation, highlighting Qatar’s role as a hub for diplomatic engagement and constructive dialogue on global challenges.
