Abdullah bin Zayed and Antony Blinken Discuss Middle East Developments

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, held a phone conversation with Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States, to address the recent serious developments in the Middle East region.

During the discussion, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Secretary Blinken focused on efforts to de-escalate tensions and achieve a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the critical need for the international community to enhance its humanitarian response to the escalating crisis and to ensure the protection of civilians in Gaza.

Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the urgency of addressing extremism and curbing the rising tensions and violence that pose threats to regional and global peace and security. He stressed the need for accelerated efforts to alleviate the suffering of civilians in the Gaza Strip.

In addition to the Gaza situation, Sheikh Abdullah and Secretary Blinken also reviewed the current developments in Sudan and discussed their humanitarian impacts. The conversation underscored the UAE’s commitment to supporting international efforts aimed at stabilizing the region and addressing the humanitarian needs arising from ongoing conflicts.
