Abu Dhabi to host Asian Chess Summit

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Abu Dhabi is set to host the Asian Chess Summit from 26th February until 3rd March, 2023.

The announcement came during the meeting of the Executive Board of the Asian Chess Federation (ACF), which was chaired by Hisham Al Taher, Secretary-General of the Federation, during which he confirmed that the summit will include many main and subsidiary activities with the participation of representatives of 54 countries from different regions of the Asian continent.

Al Taher said that the meeting of ACF’s General Electoral Assembly, which will be held on 28th February, will be one of the most prominent programmes of the summit. It is also scheduled that the Assembly will endorse the recommendation for the election of Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan as president for the fifth consecutive session until 2026.

Also among the most prominent programmes of the summit is the discussion of Russia’s accession to the Asian Chess Federation.
