Adel Khalid Clinches Top Position at European Open Modern Sailing Championship

Vilamoura, The Gulf Observer: Adel Khalid, the Olympic sailor representing Al Hamriyah Club in Sharjah, has claimed first place in the overall standings at the European Open Modern Sailing Championship. The competition’s final round concluded today in Vilamoura, Portugal.

Khalid’s victory came after a stellar performance throughout the championship’s three rounds. He won gold and silver medals in Sweden, a gold medal in Germany, and capped his success with a bronze medal in Portugal, securing his position at the top of the competition.

Expressing his joy, Khalid dedicated this remarkable achievement to the wise leadership of the UAE and thanked the Sharjah Sports Council and the board of directors at Al Hamriyah Club for their consistent support.

Humaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of Al Hamriyah Club, also extended his congratulations to Khalid for his outstanding success, praising his dedication and skill in elevating the UAE’s presence in the international sailing arena.
