Agreement Signed to Enhance Sports Development for Students in Oman
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Omani School Sports Association, has formalized an extensive cooperation program with the Oman Football Federation, aiming to propel sports development for students in the Sultanate.
The signing ceremony, held on Sunday, symbolizes a noteworthy convergence of education and sports. Under the auspices of H E Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary for Education and Chairman of the Omani School Sports Association, and Sheikh Salem bin Said al Wahaibi, Chairman of the Oman Football Association, the program delineates a series of targeted initiatives.
These encompass organizing football tournaments for school students, facilitating technical and administrative cooperation, and notably, advocating for women’s football through a specialized girls’ football festival for schools. Aligned with Oman Vision 2040, the program signifies the commitment of the Omani School Sports Association to nurturing football talent in schools and providing enhanced opportunities for both male and female students. H E Ambosaidi underscored the comprehensive nature of the agreement, emphasizing its focus on tournaments and football advancement, including the promotion of girls’ football.
Sheikh Wahaibi praised the collaborative effort, viewing it as a shared mission aligned with both parties’ aspirations. The partnership aims to identify, train, and refine promising talents from schools, contributing to the creation of a new generation of players capable of achieving notable outcomes for clubs and national teams.
The collaboration marks a significant advancement in developing student sports in Oman, reflecting a commitment to fostering athletic talent and providing a conducive environment for the growth of young athletes.
