Albanian President Congratulates President Ilham Aliyev on Peace Agreement with Armenia

Baku, The Gulf Observer: On August 12, President of the Republic of Albania Bayram Begay held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

During the call, President Begay congratulated President Aliyev on the recent normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the signing of the declaration and related documents witnessed by the President of the United States. He particularly commended President Aliyev for his determination and leadership throughout the peace process and expressed high appreciation for the support provided by the US President.

In response, President Aliyev expressed gratitude for the congratulations and underscored that Azerbaijan took the initiative in advancing the peace agenda in the region, including drafting the peace agreement text. He highlighted the significance of the documents adopted during the Washington meeting in furthering peace efforts and acknowledged the supportive role of the US President.

The two leaders also noted the successful cooperation and mutual support between Azerbaijan and Albania within international organizations.
