Algerian Ambassador, SIFC Secretary Discuss Expanding Investment Cooperation

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: On February 18, 2026, Ibrahim Romani, Ambassador of Algeria to Pakistan, called on Mr. Jamil Ahmed Qureshi, Secretary of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), which operates under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral investment cooperation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Romani highlighted the vast potential of the Algerian economy and outlined abundant opportunities for partnership and investment across key sectors in Algeria. He underscored Algeria’s strategic position in Africa and emphasized its commitment to fostering stronger economic ties with Pakistan.
Mr. Qureshi commended the strength and diversity of the Algerian economy, noting that it is the third largest in Africa. He welcomed the Ambassador’s proposal to enhance institutional cooperation between the Special Investment Facilitation Council and the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion (AAPI).
Both sides expressed their shared interest in promoting structured collaboration between SIFC and AAPI to facilitate trade, attract investment, and deepen economic partnership between the two brotherly countries. The meeting reaffirmed the mutual commitment of Pakistan and Algeria to explore new opportunities for sustainable economic cooperation and strategic investment.
