Vitebsk, The Gulf Observer: The Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan represented Pakistan and delivered a speech at the SCO Culture Ministers Forum, held yesterday at the prestigious XXXIII International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar” in Vitebsk.
The event was hosted by the Minsiter of Culture of Belarus and attended by the Secretary General of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Ministers/Deputy Minister and Ambassadors of SCO member States. It was the first ever event by Belarus since its full membership of the SCO earlier this month in Astana.
The theme of the event, “Dialogue of Cultures – The Factor of Unity of Peoples of SCO Countries,” was highlighted as central to fostering unity in an interconnected yet divided world.
In his speech, Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to the SCO’s role in regional economic cooperation, security, and cultural exchange. As the current chair of the SCO Council of Heads of Government, Pakistan is set to host the next summit in Islamabad in October 2024, reinforcing its dedication to regional collaboration.
Since 2021, Pakistan has actively participated in the “Slavianski Bazaar Festivals,” including this year’s exhibition “Cultural Diversity and Landscapes of Pakistan.” The Ambassador underscored the importance of expanding cultural exchanges, art exhibitions, music festivals, and literary forums to strengthen ties among SCO member states.
The speech concluded with a call to embrace cultural diversity and foster open dialogue to build a more cohesive, peaceful, and prosperous region.
