Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam Expresses Gratitude Following Iranian President’s Landmark Visit to Pakistan

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: At the conclusion of the high-level official visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam issued a heartfelt message of appreciation to the Government and people of Pakistan for the warm and generous hospitality extended to the Iranian delegation.
Ambassador Moghadam conveyed his sincere gratitude to the brotherly and neighboring country of Pakistan, emphasizing the exceptional arrangements made during the Iranian President’s visit, which he described as both historic and deeply meaningful for the future of bilateral relations.
“In particular,” the Ambassador stated, “I offer my heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his outstanding role in providing truly memorable and historic moments during this important visit. I also extend my warmest thanks to His Excellency President Asif Ali Zardari for graciously hosting the Iranian delegation at the President’s House.”
He further lauded Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, for his “distinguished presence and valuable contribution” to the success of the visit, underscoring the importance of military-to-military understanding in broader bilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Moghadam extended special thanks to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and his team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their “professionalism and tireless efforts in coordinating this high-level engagement.”
The Iranian envoy also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz for their warm hospitality during the delegation’s visit to Lahore, praising the city’s cultural richness and historical significance.
He recognized several Pakistani ministers for their active role in strengthening Iran-Pakistan relations and finalizing twelve key Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) during the visit. Among those acknowledged were:

- Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Defence
- Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Commerce
- Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for Privatisation

- Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting
Ambassador Moghadam stressed that Pakistan and Iran share deep-rooted historical, cultural, and strategic ties, and that the recent agreements in trade, infrastructure, and culture represent a significant milestone in the evolving relationship between the two nations.
He concluded his message with a firm commitment:
“Following the express determination of our leaders to increase the bilateral trade volume to $10 billion, I consider it a duty and an honor — for myself, my colleagues at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan, and our counterparts in Tehran — to work tirelessly toward the realization of this shared vision.”
