Arab Youth Centre

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The Arab Youth Centre recently orchestrated a special forum, bringing together a delegation of students from distinguished Chinese universities, participants in the young Arab leadership training program, along with experts from the United Nations, Chinese universities, and institutes. The gathering aimed to assess projects and work strategies at the Arab Youth Centre, focusing on cultivating positive citizenship, active engagement among Arab youth in their communities, and reinforcing their connection with Arabic language and identity.

The forum, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, and various Arab and international diplomatic institutes, provided a platform to discuss key initiatives aimed at developing the youth work sector in the Arab region.

The visiting delegation had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Young Arab Diplomatic Leaders program, a knowledge partnership of the Arab Youth Centre, designed to train promising talents in the field of foreign relations. This program seeks to enhance Arab diplomatic presence and facilitate effective Arab participation in global dialogues and forums.

A pivotal part of the meeting involved reviewing the outcomes of the “Arab Youth Priorities” questionnaire, a pioneering study launched by the centre. This comprehensive questionnaire, attended by approximately 6,800 young individuals from diverse Arab countries, explored priorities in education, health, environment, security, technology, arts, sports, personality and self-development, income and job opportunities, community participation, and infrastructure. The study aims to provide research-based insights for the development of informed policies and quality programs that empower youth across the Arab world.

The forum included a dialogue session where the visiting delegation learned about the Arab Youth Centre’s initiatives and programs, focusing on empowering young people with skills and tools to enhance their competitive abilities and leadership potential. These efforts aim to contribute to the formation of a generation of young Arab leaders capable of building a better future for the Arab world.

During the visit, the centre’s team answered queries about the mechanisms for preparing and implementing programs for Arab youth, strategies for involving young people in international and regional events, especially those hosted in the UAE.

The visit also featured an introductory video about the Arab Youth Centre, offering the delegation an immersive tour of the centre’s facilities, halls, various activities, and insights into its initiatives and plans for the future. This collaborative exchange underscores the commitment to cross-cultural understanding and cooperation between Arab and Chinese youth, fostering a shared vision for the future.
