Australia beat England in 2nd Test by 43 runs

London, The Gulf Observer: The Australian cricket team on 2 July registered their 2nd consecutive win against England in the Ashes Test series by 43 runs, played at Lord’s between 28 June to 2 July.

Batting first, the Aussies gave scored 416 runs in the first innings, where Steven Smith (110) hit another century, In reply, England managed to score 325 runs.

In the second innings, Australia scored 279 runs, but England, scoring 327, fell short by 43 runs, thereby losing the Second Test at Lords. In the second innings, England skipper Ben Stokes even scored a century (155).

Combining both innings, Australia’s Mitchell Starc took 6 wickets, while Josh Hazlewood picked 5 wickets. Pat Cummins took 4 wickets. For England, Stuart Broad, Ollie Robinson, and Josh Tongue took 5 wickets each. James Anderson took 2 wickets.

Now with the loss, Australia leads the Ashes series by 2-0 against England.
