Azerbaijan and China Vow to Elevate Bilateral Relations to New Heights
Baku, The Gulf Observer: From Tuesday to Thursday, Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, paid a friendly visit to Azerbaijan, where she met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
During the discussions, Shen, who also serves as Chairperson of the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), emphasized the flourishing friendly and cooperative partnership between China and Azerbaijan. This partnership, she noted, is thriving under the strategic guidance of both nations’ presidents, leading to numerous fruitful outcomes.
Shen conveyed China’s readiness to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state. She highlighted China’s commitment to aligning the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative with Azerbaijan’s Revival of the Silk Road national development strategy. Additionally, Shen called for expanded cooperation in various fields, increased people-to-people exchanges, and efforts to elevate bilateral relations to new heights. Shen was leading a Chinese delegation at the invitation of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the progressive advancement of Azerbaijan-China relations. He reiterated Azerbaijan’s adherence to the one-China principle and support for China’s efforts to safeguard its territorial integrity. Aliyev also expressed Azerbaijan’s readiness to enhance cooperation with China, particularly in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, green development, and civil exchanges within the SCO framework.
During her visit, Shen Yueyue also held talks with Ali Huseynli, First Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, further solidifying the cooperative ties between the two nations.
