Azerbaijan and ECO Discuss Expanding Collaboration Across Key Sectors

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan values its partnership with the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and seeks to expand collaboration across a range of sectors, including trade, transport, finance, and tourism. This commitment was emphasized by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance, Sahil Babayev, during a meeting with ECO Secretary General Asad Majeed Khan.

During the discussion, Khan expressed his gratitude for Azerbaijan’s proactive role within the ECO and its initiatives aimed at strengthening the organization’s activities. The two leaders highlighted the importance of the ECO in fostering closer cooperation among member states.

The meeting underscored the need to organize business forums that would bring together entrepreneurs from the member countries, facilitating greater economic engagement. They also addressed the role of the ECO Trade and Development Bank, agreeing that the bank’s increased participation in project financing could significantly boost regional trade, transport connectivity, and overall economic development.

Both sides affirmed their commitment to further enhancing the ECO’s impact in the region.
