Azerbaijan and Georgia Reaffirm Strategic Partnership During Presidential Meeting in Tbilisi

Tbilisi, The Gulf Observer: Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held a one-on-one meeting with Mikheil Kavelashvili on April 6 in Tbilisi, underscoring the strength of bilateral ties between the two neighboring nations.

During the meeting, both leaders emphasized that Azerbaijan–Georgia relations are firmly grounded in friendship, good-neighborliness, and a longstanding strategic partnership. They commended the steady progress in cooperation across multiple sectors, including political dialogue, economic collaboration, energy, green energy, transport, and investment.

The Presidents highlighted the vital role of reciprocal high-level visits in further strengthening bilateral relations, noting that such engagements contribute significantly to deepening mutual understanding and expanding cooperation.

Particular attention was given to joint transport and energy projects, which were described as strategically and economically significant for both countries and the broader region. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continuing collaboration in these key areas.

The discussions also touched upon regional developments, with both sides emphasizing the importance of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia in ensuring long-term peace, stability, and security in the South Caucasus.

Furthermore, the Presidents praised the effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia within international organizations and exchanged views on future prospects for bilateral relations, as well as other matters of mutual interest.

Following the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev signed the guest book, marking the occasion of his visit.
