Azerbaijan and Slovakia Explore Opportunities to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a meeting on Thursday with Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Azerbaijan, Milan Lajcak, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission in the country.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, as well as key developments in the regional and global context. Minister Bayramov expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Lajcak for his valuable contributions to strengthening bilateral and multilateral ties and extended best wishes for success in his future endeavors.

The discussions highlighted the importance of reciprocal visits and consistent mutual contacts, including the institutionalized mechanism of political consultations, in furthering cooperation between the two nations. Both sides welcomed the productive discussions that took place between the heads of state of Azerbaijan and Slovakia during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) held in Baku last year, as well as fruitful engagements between the foreign ministers.

The officials emphasized the broad potential for expanding bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors, including the economy, trade, science, culture, and other areas of mutual interest. They underlined the significance of maintaining momentum in these fields through sustained collaboration.

Ambassador Milan Lajcak conveyed his gratitude for the support extended to him during his tenure and expressed optimism for the continued growth of Azerbaijan-Slovakia relations.

The meeting also featured discussions on a range of issues of mutual concern, reaffirming both sides’ commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.
