Azerbaijan and Türkiye Reaffirm United Stance on Regional Peace and Stability
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan and Türkiye have once again emphasized their united position on matters of regional peace and stability. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, articulated this stance during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, held in Ankara.
“The position of Azerbaijan and Türkiye is one. Our relations of mutual support, strategic partnership, and alliance will continue. This policy of our countries will bring peace, tranquility, and stability to our region,” Minister Bayramov declared, as reported by Azernews, citing Azertag.
During the conference, Minister Bayramov also addressed the ongoing negotiations with Armenia, highlighting a significant impediment to the peace process. He pointed out that “the main obstacle to the completion of the peace process is the territorial claims against Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the constitution of Armenia.” This assertion underscores Azerbaijan’s concerns over Armenia’s stance, which remains a critical issue in the broader regional dynamics.
In his remarks, Minister Bayramov also expressed alarm over recent developments in the region, particularly Armenia’s accelerated military buildup. “Armenia is rapidly arming itself, and third countries are contributing to this process. This very wrong policy is an additional source of threat for our region,” he warned.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister concluded by emphasizing that Baku is meticulously monitoring all regional activities and is in constant coordination with Ankara to ensure their mutual security and interests are upheld.
This reaffirmation of solidarity between Azerbaijan and Türkiye comes at a time of heightened tensions in the South Caucasus, as both nations seek to navigate complex geopolitical challenges while striving for lasting peace and stability in the region.
