Azerbaijan, Finland Presidents Discuss Peace and Bilateral Cooperation at UNGA

New York, The Gulf Observer: On September 23, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Alexander Stubb, President of Finland, at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
During the meeting, President Stubb congratulated President Aliyev on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and on the historic agreements reached in Washington, noting Finland’s longstanding support for peace in the region, media reports said.
President Aliyev expressed gratitude for the congratulations and recalled that during Finland’s Chairpersonship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the decision was made to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group. He emphasized that Azerbaijan and Armenia have now entered a period of peace.
The leaders discussed the importance of joint efforts to advance the regional peace agenda. They also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation, collaboration within international organizations, and Azerbaijan’s relations with the European Union.
