Azerbaijan House Inaugurated in Alexandria, Virginia

Alexandria, The Gulf Observer: The Azerbaijan House was officially inaugurated in Alexandria, Virginia, marking a momentous occasion for the Azerbaijani diaspora and local communities in the United States. The opening ceremony, attended by members of the Azerbaijani diaspora, residents from nearby cities, and representatives of various communities, began with the symbolic cutting of a red ribbon, as reported by NHC.

Sevda Tahirli, co-founder of the Azerbaijan Association, welcomed the guests and provided insights into the activities of the Azerbaijani community in the U.S. She highlighted the establishment of Azerbaijan House as a significant gift to the local community, serving as a cultural and social hub for Azerbaijanis in the area.

Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, praised the opening of Azerbaijan House as a pivotal development that will invigorate the Azerbaijani community’s activities in the United States. He congratulated the community on this remarkable achievement, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the diaspora’s presence and influence abroad.

Togrul Aliyev, First Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy in the United States, extended his congratulations to the community on the establishment of Azerbaijan House, expressing his best wishes for its future success.

Ayan Aliyeva, co-founder of the Azerbaijani Association and head of A-Level Company, spoke about the impactful work of the Azerbaijani community in promoting the country’s image in social and political circles. She outlined future plans for Azerbaijan House, underscoring its role in preserving and promoting Azerbaijani culture, language, and history.

Speeches at the event emphasized the importance of promoting the native language, history, and culture of Azerbaijan, particularly among the youth. Participants expressed optimism that Azerbaijan House would make significant contributions to these efforts in the future.

Following the opening ceremony, a meeting was held with the Azerbaijani community in Virginia.
