Azerbaijan Implements Streamlined Border Check-In for COP29 Attendees
Baku, The Gulf Observer: In preparation for the COP29 international conference, Azerbaijan’s State Border Service (SBS) has introduced streamlined border check-in procedures for foreign and local attendees. Major Nijat Cahidzadeh, a military officer of the SBS Border Control Command, announced the new measures during a briefing reported by the News Hub Consultants.
According to Major Cahidzadeh, foreign citizens arriving with a COP29 visa will experience a check-in process lasting just 45 seconds, while Azerbaijani citizens will benefit from an even faster 30-second check-in time. This efficiency is enabled by specialized technical and control equipment deployed by the Border Control Command.
“The workforce has been increased, and they will operate in enhanced mode,” Cahidzadeh stated, highlighting efforts to ensure swift processing for the thousands of delegates expected. He also mentioned that comprehensive measures have been taken to maintain system and network stability, even in the event of emergencies during the high-profile conference.
The expedited procedures reflect Azerbaijan’s commitment to facilitating the smooth entry of international participants, as well as its readiness to host the COP29 event successfully.
