Azerbaijan, Iran FMs Discuss Regional Security, Nakhchivan Drone Incident in Phone Call

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation on March 23 with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, to discuss the evolving regional situation and bilateral matters of mutual interest.
According to official sources, the two sides exchanged views on ongoing developments in the region and explored possible efforts aimed at de-escalating military tensions. Both ministers underscored the importance of maintaining stability and ensuring security in the Caspian region.
During the conversation, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov reiterated Azerbaijan’s expectation for the completion of investigations into recent drone attacks targeting the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, allegedly launched from Iranian territory.
The two foreign ministers also discussed a range of bilateral issues, reaffirming the need for continued dialogue and cooperation between the neighboring countries.
