Baku, The Gulf Observer: According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, the country produced 7,788 tons of tea during the first eight months of 2025. The figure reflects a 5.2 percent decrease (or 428.7 tons) compared to the same period in 2024. As of September 1, Azerbaijan’s finished tea stock was reported at 84.9 tons.

During the same period, Azerbaijan exported 492 tons of tea valued at $4.5 million, marking a 2 percent rise in value (or $90,000) and a 0.6 percent increase in volume (3 tons) compared to last year.

Meanwhile, tea imports reached 8,861 tons worth $54.5 million, indicating an 8 percent increase in value (equivalent to $4 million) but a 9.2 percent decrease in volume (902 tons) from 2024.

In the first eight months of 2025, tea imports accounted for 0.36 percent of Azerbaijan’s total imports, while tea exports comprised 0.03 percent of the country’s total exports. Despite a modest decline in domestic production, the steady rise in export value highlights the growing international demand and quality recognition of Azerbaijani tea.
