Azerbaijan Strengthens Security in Liberated Territories Following Anti-Terror Operations
Baku, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan is actively implementing measures to ensure the safe transition of territories liberated from occupation, reports News Hub Consultants according to the Azerbaijani media.
Police personnel are playing a crucial role in accelerating the Return Process, providing reliable security in the region after the Patriotic War and recent anti-terror operations. These efforts include the identification and neutralization of remnants of war and potential threats to civilian safety.
One of the primary objectives of the internal affairs officers has been the clearance of the region from dangerous materials such as weapons, ammunition, and explosives. From September 14 to 20, police operations successfully led to the seizure of significant arms and munitions across various regions.
In Khankendi, authorities confiscated 6 automatic weapons, 2 rifles, 2 grenades, 3 bayonets, 19 magazine clips, and 120 rounds of various calibers. Meanwhile, in the Khojavend region, 1 machine gun, 29 grenades, 2 bayonets, 20 magazine clips, and 450 rounds were recovered. In the Shusha region, police uncovered 1,776 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, while in the Khocali region, 1 automatic weapon, 1 rifle, 74 grenades, 16 detonators, 11 magazine clips, and 1,650 rounds were seized.
These efforts are part of Azerbaijan’s broader initiative to ensure peace and safety as displaced residents prepare to return to their homes in the liberated territories.
