Baku, The Gulf Observer: As part of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), an “Azerbaijan National Day” will be celebrated from August 4 to 8 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, Turkmenistan.

According to the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, the event aims to highlight the country’s rich cultural heritage, time-honored artistic traditions, and dynamic contemporary creativity. The celebration will take place in the Azerbaijani pavilion, which is set to display a wide range of national crafts, printed publications, souvenirs, and works of applied art.

A delegation headed by the Minister of Culture, Adil Karimli, along with prominent Azerbaijani artists, has already arrived in Avaza to oversee preparations for the event.

The program will include an open-air exhibition showcasing Azerbaijan’s cultural treasures such as carpet weaving, traditional costumes, kelaghayi (traditional Azerbaijani women’s headscarves), shabaka (stained glass artistry), and embroidery. Master classes will offer visitors hands-on experiences of these crafts. A special culinary corner will provide guests with an opportunity to enjoy authentic Azerbaijani cuisine.

Musical performances throughout the week will include traditional Azerbaijani music, folk dances, and modern stage shows, reflecting the diversity and vitality of the country’s performing arts.

The official opening of the LLDCs conference on August 5 will feature an international gala concert, while the central celebration of “Azerbaijan National Day” is scheduled for August 6, highlighted by an elaborate music and dance program. The festivities will conclude on August 8 with a final gala concert featuring acclaimed Azerbaijani artists and performers.
