Azerbaijan, U.S. Explore New Horizons for Economic Cooperation
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov held a meeting with Brendan Hanrahan, Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, in Baku.
During the talks, both sides commended the robust economic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States and exchanged views on advancing bilateral cooperation to a higher level.
The officials underlined the significance of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two governments on establishing a Strategic Working Group to prepare the Charter on Strategic Partnership. They described this initiative as a key step in strengthening the institutional foundations of economic collaboration.
Minister Jabbarov presented Azerbaijan’s economic priorities, highlighting ongoing reforms, improvements to the business climate, and major infrastructure projects that create attractive opportunities for U.S. businesses.
The discussions built upon previous engagements in Washington with institutions including the U.S. Export-Import Bank (US EXIM Bank), SpaceX, ExxonMobil, and other leading organizations, which focused on new cooperation mechanisms and investment initiatives.
The meeting also reviewed ongoing work on the Zangezur Corridor within the framework of the Trans-Caspian Regional Development and Partnership Platform, stressing its potential to enhance regional transport and logistics connectivity and deliver substantial economic benefits.
