Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, EU High Representative Discuss Peace Agreement and Regional Stability

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation on Monday with Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.

Kallas congratulated Azerbaijan on the recent Joint Declaration signed following the summit between the leaders of Azerbaijan, the United States, and Armenia, as well as on the initialing of the peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan. She also welcomed the joint appeal by both countries to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Process and its related structures, along with other agreements reached during the Washington meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders.

Both sides underscored the significance of these developments in promoting lasting peace and stability in the region. Kallas reaffirmed the European Union’s consistent readiness to support progress in the peace process.

The two officials also exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan–EU relations, as well as broader regional and international security issues.
