Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov Meets with Georgian Parliament Speaker to Deepen Strategic Partnership

Tbilisi, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, on July 22 as part of his official visit to the country. The high-level meeting reaffirmed the strong and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Discussions centered on the current status and future outlook of bilateral relations, with both sides expressing satisfaction over the steady progress of cooperation built on mutual respect and trust. The parties highlighted the importance of interparliamentary ties, noting that parliamentary diplomacy — including reciprocal visits by parliamentary leaders and members, and active engagement between friendship groups — remains a vital pillar of the two countries’ strategic partnership.
Minister Bayramov and Speaker Papuashvili praised the ongoing collaboration across a wide range of sectors, including political dialogue, economic and energy cooperation, trade, transport, communications, and humanitarian initiatives. Special attention was given to joint projects under the framework of the Middle Corridor, which were acknowledged for their strategic and economic importance to regional connectivity and development.
The two sides also emphasized the significance of bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms in reinforcing regional peace, security, and sustainable integration.
Minister Bayramov briefed the Speaker on the latest regional developments, particularly Azerbaijan’s post-conflict challenges, extensive reconstruction and restoration efforts in the liberated territories, and the current status of the normalization and peace process with Armenia.
The meeting concluded with a productive exchange of views on a range of regional and international matters of shared interest, underscoring the commitment of both countries to further deepen their comprehensive partnership.
