Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev Welcomes President Tokayev in Shusha

Shusha, The Gulf Observer: Kazakh Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived at the Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President’s building in Shusha District, according to media reports citing Akorda. President Tokayev was warmly welcomed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The leaders are set to participate in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which will soon commence. The summit will focus on the theme “Building a Sustainable Future through Transport Connectivity and Countering Climate Change.”

Earlier, it was reported that President Tokayev had traveled to Azerbaijan for a working visit to attend this significant summit.

The Organization of Turkic States was established under the Nakhchivan Agreement on October 3, 2009. Its current members include Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, with Hungary, Turkmenistan, and Northern Cyprus holding observer status. The OTS aims to enhance cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries across various domains, including political, economic, cultural, and social spheres.
