Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Meets Kazakh President Tokayev to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during his official visit to Kazakhstan, reaffirming the strong strategic partnership between the two nations.

Minister Bayramov expressed his gratitude for Kazakhstan’s swift and comprehensive support following the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane crash near Aktau in December. He emphasized the deep-rooted brotherhood between the Azerbaijani and Kazakh peoples, underpinned by shared historical, cultural, and linguistic ties, as well as the mutual respect and trust between the two countries’ leaders.

During the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, including politics, economy, industry, technology, transport, communications, culture, humanitarian efforts, science, and education. They also commended the growing collaboration within regional and international organizations, particularly the Organization of Turkic States, highlighting their commitment to joint initiatives and mutual support.

Minister Bayramov thanked President Tokayev for his participation in COP29, successfully hosted by Azerbaijan in November, and welcomed Kazakhstan’s active engagement in Azerbaijan’s environmental and sustainability initiatives.

The discussions also covered bilateral and multilateral cooperation on key regional and post-conflict issues, reflecting the two nations’ commitment to fostering stability and development in the region.
