Manama, The Gulf Observer: The sixth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2022 kicked off today at the Sakhir Air Base under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and will run until 11 November.
The Bahrain International Show, which was founded in 2010 and is organized under the supervision by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the BIAS’ Supreme Organizing Committee, is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
The Show offers global companies an effective opportunity to meet with decision-makers in the region’s aviation sector and learn about the various investment opportunities they can take advantage of. It also highlights the potential to benefit from Bahrain’s geographical location and strong regulatory and business environment by establishing branches in the Kingdom as the headquarters for regional operations.
High-level delegations from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Germany, France, and other countries are also present, with transport ministers and civil aviation directors meeting with aerospace and aviation CEOs. This year’s exhibition focuses on direct communication as a primary objective and personal interaction between exhibitors and visitors through an integrated program prepared for civilian and military delegations visiting the exhibition to bring them into direct contact with companies and decision-makers over the exhibition’s three days .
The Show will feature over 200 high-level civilian and military delegations, as well as senior executives from international airlines and leading global aerospace companies as well as dignitaries and leaders from the private and public sectors. In addition, the static and flying displays will feature more than 100 commercial and military aircraft, including the Royal Bahraini Air Force, the United States Naval Air Force, the Royal Saudi Air Force, and the Pakistan Air Force for the first time.
The Saudi Hawks team of the Royal Saudi Air Force and the UAE Air Force’s Al Fursan aerobatic display teams are participating in this year’s edition to perform exciting shows in the skies of Sakhir over the three-day event, along with the British Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team Red Arrows, which is appearing for the first time on BIAS’s 10th anniversary. There will be a separate area for the general public, families, and children where they will be able to enjoy exciting shows in the skies of Sakhir, along with performances by local folk groups and musicians.
The family entertainment zone will feature a heritage village organized by the Ministry of Social Development, which will showcase a variety of Bahrain-made local products, children’s recreational games, and various competitions, as well as the participation of the Ministry of Tourism through the organization of a food festival in the family entertainment zone.
Adult tickets for the family zone for those 12 years and above are priced at BD5 per day, while entry will be free for children under the age of 12.
