Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser Wins Silver in Women’s 400m at Paris 2024
Paris, The Gulf Observer: Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser secured the silver medal in the women’s 400 meters at the Paris 2024 Olympics, further bolstering Bahrain’s impressive medal tally. This achievement follows Winfred Yavi’s gold in the 3000 meters steeplechase, marking a successful campaign for Bahrain in these Games.
The silver medal victory was met with celebration by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS). His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, along with other senior officials, also expressed their congratulations.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He emphasized the unwavering support of the leadership for Bahraini sports, which has been instrumental in achieving international success.
Praising Salwa Eid Naser’s outstanding efforts, His Highness highlighted the critical role played by the leadership in nurturing and supporting Bahrain’s athletes on the global stage.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa echoed these sentiments, expressing his pride in the leadership’s support and acknowledging the pivotal role of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in backing the Bahraini team at the Paris Olympics.
Bahrain’s Olympic journey continues, with weightlifters Leizman and Gaur set to compete in their respective categories. Leizman will compete in the under 102 kg category at 11:30 PM (12:30 AM Bahrain time), while Gaur will compete in the over 102 kg category at 8:30 PM (9:30 PM Bahrain time). Additionally, wrestler Ahmed Taj Eddin is scheduled to begin his campaign in the round of 16 at 11:30 AM (12:30 PM Bahrain time).
