Azerbaijan Declares 2026 as “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture”
Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev has signed an official order declaring 2026 the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” in Azerbaijan. The initiative aims to preserve the nation’s centuries-old traditions in urban planning and architectural culture, while promoting and expanding the use of progressive approaches to address emerging challenges in the sector.
According to the order, the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been tasked with preparing and submitting proposals to the President within one month regarding an action plan for the implementation of the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture.”
The designation highlights Azerbaijan’s commitment to safeguarding its architectural heritage and fostering innovative urban development strategies in line with contemporary needs.
