Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport Records Strong Year-End Passenger Traffic

Denpasar, The Gulf Observer: Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport served 811,170 travelers between December 15 and 26, averaging 67,597 passengers per day, representing a 2 percent increase over the January–November daily average of 66,222.

Speaking in Denpasar on Saturday, Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Head of Communication and Legal Affairs at the airport, said that during the 12-day Christmas and New Year Travel Post, the airport handled 5,128 flights, averaging 427 movements per day, surpassing the annual daily average of 390.

On December 24, passenger traffic reached 70,746, including 30,543 domestic and 40,203 international travelers, exceeding the previous day’s figures and representing 108.8 percent of the 65,044 passengers recorded on the same date last year.

However, traffic dipped on Christmas Day to 64,157 passengers, with 26,970 domestic and 37,187 international travelers. The following day, December 26, saw a rebound as passenger numbers surged to 72,259, equivalent to 106.5 percent of the same date in 2024, accompanied by 448 flight movements, a 9.8 percent increase compared to last year.

Asmadi noted that inbound travelers consistently outnumbered outbound passengers, underscoring Bali’s resilient tourism performance and countering claims of a downturn. On December 26, the airport served 29,751 domestic and 42,508 international passengers, with arrivals totaling 42,132, including 17,479 domestic and 24,653 international travelers.

The data reflects strong year-end travel trends, highlighting Bali’s continued appeal as a global tourist destination during the peak holiday season.
