Brunei’s Haji Abu Bakar Represents Nation in ASEAN Ride 2025 in Indonesia

Bandar Seri Begawan, The Gulf Observer: Honorary member and former president of the Persatuan Motosikal Darussalam (PEMODA), Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Md Arshad, is proudly representing Brunei Darussalam in the prestigious ASEAN Ride 2025, currently taking place in Padang, Sumatra, Indonesia.

The regional motorcycle tour, which began on August 4 and will run until August 9, brings together motorcycling enthusiasts from across Southeast Asia. Known for his active participation in international motorcycling programmes, Haji Abu Bakar departed from Brunei International Airport on August 3, heading to Jakarta, where he joined fellow riders from other ASEAN member states.

The journey officially kicks off in Lampung, with riders set to traverse over five Indonesian provinces: Lampung, Krui, Bengkulu, Sungai Penuh, and ultimately culminating in Padang. Along the route, participants will experience Indonesia’s diverse landscapes and cultural richness, while also strengthening regional bonds through shared passion for motorcycling.

One of the highlights of the tour includes the opportunity to witness the Padang City Anniversary celebrations, offering riders a glimpse into the city’s vibrant culture and community spirit.

In a statement, PEMODA reaffirmed its dedication to promoting the motorcycling spirit in Brunei, particularly the development of high-powered motorcycle activities, through consistent participation in local and international events.

The ASEAN Ride 2025 serves as a platform for regional camaraderie, cultural exchange, and the celebration of ASEAN unity on two wheels.
