CDA Chairman and Iranian Ambassador Pledge Collaborative Efforts for Urban Sustainability in Islamabad
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri-Moghaddam emphasized a shared commitment to advancing urban sustainability and enhancing ties between Pakistan and Iran. This development follows a high-level meeting on World Cities Day, during which both parties discussed potential collaborations in urban development.
Ambassador Amiri-Moghaddam praised Islamabad for its green spaces and well-planned infrastructure, acknowledging the deep cultural connection between Pakistan and Iran. He highlighted symbolic gestures, such as streets in Iran named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal, and appreciated Islamabad’s Iran Avenue as a reflection of mutual respect.
The ambassador expressed Tehran’s interest in working with Islamabad on projects focused on infrastructure and solid waste management, areas where Iran has significant expertise. Chairman Randhawa responded positively, sharing CDA’s commitment to enhancing Islamabad’s beauty and urban facilities. He welcomed Tehran’s support, particularly in solid waste management and infrastructure, and noted the CDA’s focus on sustainable city development.
Both leaders reiterated their hopes for increased cooperation, aiming to foster knowledge-sharing and sustainable urban practices that benefit both capitals.
