Chairman of Turkmen Halk Maslakhaty meets Tatar President
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, in Ashgabat on Thursday, the Tatar President’s Press Service reports.
During the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that in the framework of the Russian-Turkmen relations, cooperation with Tatarstan as one of the regions of the Russian Federation is important for Turkmenistan.
Much is being done in trade-economic sphere, in industry, and it is also encouraging that large companies from Tatarstan operate in Turkmenistan, the Halk Maslakhaty Chairman added.
In turn, the Tatar President thanked for warm and fraternal attitude to Tatarstan and noted that within the framework of strategic partnership there is a good opportunity for inter-regional cooperation as well.
Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that large industrial companies of Tatarstan are successfully operating in Turkmenistan. Cooperation is carried out in oil production, oil refining, machine building and other spheres.
The working visit of the Tatar President to Turkmenistan started on Wednesday. Within the framework of the visit, Minnikhanov will attend the plenary session of the Russian-Turkmen Business Forum and the ceremony to mark the laying or the foundation stone of the Ahal province’s main mosque in the city of Arkadag. He will also visit the KAMAZ’s service center in Ashgabat.
